Korcula remains one of my favourite places in Croatia. Easy to reach from Dubrovnik, Split, or other islands in Dalmatia including Hvar, it should be on any Croatian itinerary. And, like much of Europe, food is one of the drawcards for this holiday hotspot.
Surrounded by the sparkling Adriatic Sea, it’s no surprise that catch-of-the-day seafood is a firm favourite, as well as the influences of Mediterranean flavours. Whether it’s handmade Croatian makaruni or a spread of locally sourced meat and cheese paired with some of Croatia’s finest wines, you can find it in Korcula Town.
From aromatic appetisers to delicious dinners, this guide shows you the best restaurants and wine bars in Korcula Town.
Best Restaurants in Korcula
Restaurant Nigra Korčula
Just a few minutes walk from the heart of Korcula Old Town, Restaurant Nigra Korčula is a dining experience not-to-be-missed. Offering a split dining space, there is both an indoor restaurant and a platform suspended over the sea across the road opposite the restaurant.
Restaurant Nigra offers a gourmet dining experience that marries the passion for excellent dishes with the best locally sourced ingredients. Here you can pair delicious Croatian wines with a local favourite - handmade makaruni - a Croatian speciality, freshly caught seafood, and melt-in-your-mouth desserts.

Pensatore Kitchen & Wine
Sharing dining space between Korcula’s waterfront and a space tucked within a sandstone hideaway, Pensatore Kitchen & Wine was one of my favourite dining locations in Korcula. Taking al fresco dining to another level, the ambience perfectly complements the exquisite menu.
Diners are seated under the warm glow of fairy lights, while waves of the Pelješac channel gently lap at the walls of the promenade. Pensatore Kitchen & Wine offer a delightfully fresh, Mediterranean-inspired menu combining organic ingredients to create flavours that you’ll be thinking about days later - think octopus with polenta and chimichurri or saffron and prosciutto.

LD Restaurant
LD Restaurant is an established player in the Korculan dining scene, owing much of its success to the Michelin-starred menu curated by Head Chef Marko Gajski. Honouring the best of seasonal ingredients, the dishes bring the robust flavours of Croatia to life on your plate.
Occupying prime real estate along the town’s waterfront promenade, diners can overlook the crystal clear waters surrounding Korčula Town. LD Restaurant builds its dishes around the seasons using bold flavours to create contemporary dishes boasting a sensational influence.

Konoba Nonno
Fine dining, sea views, and with Mediterranean cuisine at its core, Konoba Nonna encapsulates your dining experience only the way a local Croatian tavern can. Taking a luxe contemporary approach to authentic Croatian cuisine, this highly-rates eatery shouldn’t be missed.
From perfectly cooked steaks, generous pasta dishes and exceptionally served seafood, Konoba Nonno is a delight for your tastebuds. Warm hospitality, a brilliant location, and top-quality cuisine makes this restaurant a great choice while in town.

Konoba Aterina
If you’re looking to enjoy the atmosphere of a local eatery, Konoba Aterina is a top choice. The restaurant rebranded in 2014 and feels like dishes ‘cooked by mum’ where they serve modern bistro-style plates built around the inventive use of local ingredients.
Whether it’s a twist on traditional bruschetta using bacon and pesto to grilled fish and seasonal vegetables or comforting pasta plates that are fresh and hearty, the value is emphasised through the quality of the food. Al fresco dining on the terrace offers a beautiful sea view and is a brilliant spot to admire the beautiful Dalmatian sunsets.

Konoba Adio Mare
Serving up Italian-inspired Dalmatian cuisine, Konoba Adio Mare has been part of the Korcula culinary community since the 1970s. Nestled within the laneways of Korcula Old Town, diners are surrounded by honey-hued houses as they enjoy the simple flavour combinations served up by the kitchen.
The menu has an emphasis on seafood and homemade pasta, but there are choices for those who prefer land-based dishes too. Topping it off is the extensive wine menu that is almost exclusively built on wines from Korcula island and neighbouring Pelješac.

Marco Homemade Ice Cream
While not a restaurant or wine bar, Marco Homemade Ice Cream deserves an honourable mention. A holiday must-have for me is ice cream or gelato, and Croatia seems to have picked up a thing or two from their Italian neighbours, because they do a great job.
We passed by Marco Homemade Ice Cream every day on our stroll from our hotel into Korčula Town and I had to pick up a scoop or two on the way home - there’s always room for dessert, right? A gelateria always earns bonus points when they branch out from just serving classic flavours. Marco Homemade Ice Cream does a great job of this, with a mix of daily specials like ricotta and fig, Marko Polo cheesecake, and orange and ginger.

Best Bars In Korčula Town
Lole Wine And Tapas Bar
Just off the Korčula promenade on the stony laneway steps is LoLe Wine and Tapas Bar. Offering a wide selection of fine Croatian wines and lovingly prepared homemade sharing plates, patrons can expect a casual yet superb experience. There are only a handful of high-top tables perched on the laneway stairs, so I suggest you arrive early or try to book a table in advance.
The owner Renato is knowledgeable with local wine expertise and guides you through the indigenous wine varieties from Korčula and from further across Croatia. We spent an evening grazing a meat and cheese board, topped off with a forest fruits cheesecake homemade by Renato’s wife - it was one of our favourite meals in Korcula!

Bokar Wine Bar
If you’re looking for a casual place to perch for a glass of wine, then Bokar wine bar is perfect. With a selection of local wines from the island and broader Croatia, the sommeliers here will spend their time explaining the qualities and flavours of each wine to help you in your appreciation of a local drop.
If you’re looking for a bite to eat, they also serve small plates to share. For those looking for a more in-depth opportunity to explore the wines of the region, which is exactly what we did. We opted for a local red and white tasting which let you sample three local wines from Korčula and the Pelješac peninsula.

Cocktail Bar Massimo
Set within and at the top of the turret of the Zakerjan Tower, Cocktail Bar Massimo is a unique experience offering a great view. There are a handful of tables set in the rooftop space, but be warned that this open-air bar requires some nimble navigation of several wooden staircases to reach the top.
Popular thanks to the views if offers across the peninsula as well as into the Old Town, this bar has likely graced your Instagram feed at some point. Drinks here do come at a premium and the view is certainly the main appeal of this bar, so enjoy it but don’t expect to linger for hours. If you prioritise quality, especially for wine and cocktails, then there are definitely higher quality bars with a better range of local drinks elsewhere in the old town - but it’s worth it if you want to take in the sights for a bit.
